Small Groups

The Center offers a variety of classes and groups throughout the calendar year to help our students build foundations for the future.  


SCHEDULED GROUPS ARE HELD AT THE BOISE OFFICE.
Groups will be held in the Wood River Valley based on demand.

Social Thinking Instruction

Social Thinking Instruction can be scheduled one-on-one or in small groups. Offered in Boise and Wood River.

Handwriting
Class

This class helps students improve printing legibility in letter formation, letter placement on lines, and spacing correctly between letters and words. Students will be able to try special tools to increase comfort and legibility during writing. This class only available in Boise.

Survival Skills

This class helps students with study skills, including note-taking, test preparation, and organizational techniques, as well as self-advocacy, stress management, and essay writing. Class is offered during the academic school year for Junior and Senior High students in Boise and Wood River.

Understanding
My Learning Profile

This class helps students with learning disabilities understand that everyone learns differently and to appreciate their unique learning profiles. Students increase self-esteem as they learn to appreciate their strengths and work around their challenges. For ages 8 to 10 and 11 to 14. This class only available in Boise.

Expository Writing

This class helps students improve writing skills by providing a structured, multi-sensory approach to organizing thoughts on paper. Topics covered include: outlining, thesis statements, transitions, supporting ideas with details, and identifying the purpose. Beginning and Intermediate classes for 4th to 6th graders, 7th to 9th graders, and 10th to 12th graders. Offered in Boise and Wood River.
